MOS 2012 FR - recap

Meeting Of Styles 2012 France

By Vincent Morgan via Fatcap.com

Focus on the Meeting of Styles in Perpignan, France. Walls avalanche and stunning styles to delight the 10,000 visitors who enjoyed the day&night graffiti sessions.

For the third year in Perpignan, the French Meeting Of Styles drew more than 10,000 people on a weekend. Day and night graffiti sessions, 1200 square meters surface filled, great murals and amazing styles.

For the first time in MOS history, there was a night event which brought together many disciplines of street culture, mc's, dj's, riders and of course graffiti artists from all over the world: USA, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Belgium, Switzerland...

Here's a selection of pictures and a video. Enjoy.

Molitor

Last summer,
"Piscine Molitor" - Paris XVI

Great times at this awesome legendary spot in the nice suburbs of Paris.
An old abandoned swimming pool complex, an historical design, witch is still used to host many events, before destruction... Check here/ici for more about it.

A nice line up with friends at the exterior pool under sunshine.

Graffiti Burners - The Book

Graffiti Burners

by Björn Almqvist

The crème de la crème of graffiti pieces collected in a new Dokument Press book.

145 of the best and most recent work of the world’s foremost graffiti writers, more than 70 of whom comment on the pieces and say what burners mean to them.

A “burner” is a graffiti piece that is so distinctive that it “burns” all the other paintings surrounding it. Graffiti and street art are constantly developing, and there is a clear will among practitioners to constantly take the art form to new levels and refine their technique.
The quest to surpass oneself and all takers has led to unex- pected and astonishing results. Graffiti Burners collects 145 of the world’s foremost writers. In addition to showing their best work from the past two years, around 70 of them talk about what a burner means to them, and share their tips on how to create one yourself. The book provides the reader with a unique opportunity to understand more about the dramatic development of the art form of graffiti in the last few years with fine illustra- tions and interesting reading. It is an important part of graf- fiti documentation and a must for street art cognoscenti.
Contributors include Askew, Azek, Bates, Ces, Does, Dwane, Egs, Ether, Horfe, Kacao77, Kem, Nomad, Os Gemeos, Poet, Puppet, Revok, Rime, Skore, Smash 137, Swet, T-Kid, Vans The Omega, Wane, Yes 2, ZZ Top...

"I was happy to receive it today and can appreciate the huge nice quality work on the book and awesome worldwide best burners. A must have! No doubt. "
- Azek, LEC

“The meaning of a burner is when another writer looks at that
piece and says that shit is on fire. Even the average person will
look at it and say it’s hot!”
- Bio, TATS

“A burner needs to suck the life out of every other piece near it
and stand alone, as the focus, the centre of attention.”
- Aroe, MSK, HA, 7TH LETTER
